Is not the great I Am sovereign? Did He not prove to you His majesty, glory, sovereignty, and power by creating the universe and everything in it? Did He not prove His love to you by laying His life down for you even on a cross? Did He not purpose you to enjoy Him, be completely satisfied in Him, and fellowship with Him for all eternity? Yet we look at everything but Him for our satisfaction and happiness. We worry. We want to be in charge, and do not want to be told what to do.
If you are honest with yourself, you realize the things of this world cannot satisfy. You look for happiness in things, status, or other people, but you are ALWAYS let down. It’s like chasing a mirage. So you keep moving onto the next mirage that promises happiness and satisfaction, and the tiring cycle repeats.
When you are in charge, it is your responsibility to fix all issues in your life and the lives of your loved ones. Yet, your power to fix is inadequate. If someone comes and steals your belongings/money you worked so hard for, what can you do? If yours or a loved ones health deteriorates and doctors cannot help, what can you do? Since you are in charge, you must fix it! You want to fix it so bad, but you simply cannot. So you have internal temper tantrums which ushers in horrid monsters like depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. This is reality with you being in charge. Is there another way? Yes, but only one.
Before Adam ate that forbidden fruit, our Creator had a plan for us. While the Spirit of the Lord was hovering over the formless earth at the beginning, He knew us. His sovereignty not only controls the galaxies across the universe, the timing of the tides in the oceans, and when the mountain lion gives birth, but He is sovereign over the smallest details of your life as well; and here is a glimpse of the power of His sovereignty: He uses it ALL for your good. If you would let go of the control you thought you had and hand over your life without restrictions over to the Lord, He then becomes in charge of you. Now, if someone robs you, you lose your health, or whatever, it’s not your problem to fix. God is in charge and He is able and willing! He promised He has plans to give you hope and a future, that His grace would sustain you at all times, that He is using all things for your good, that He would uphold you with His righteous hand, that He would help you and strengthen you, and many more irreversible promises.
So, to make it simple, look no further for that elusive true satisfaction and happiness, but live a life surrendered to Jesus. Trust in Him and wear His promises at all times. Then there will be nothing left to do but fellowship, enjoy, and rest in the Him; the way to true, lasting satisfaction and happiness… the way we were designed to exist.
Thank you so much for this, Aaron. I can sense the anointing given to you by the Holy Spirit as I read every word! To God be the glory! Thank and praise Him for the gifts He has given you, indeed all by His grace.
I’ve come across your video on YouTube about your testimony on how God delivered you from pornography addiction. I was the one who commented on the other video asking about that Bible you were holding, and you said that’s the NIV life application study Bible. Since then Ive subscribed on your channel and been listening to your videos and have read a couple of blogs including this one.
I hope you dont mind, Aaron that I ask for your help to pray for me. Ive just experienced a spiritual breakthrough and then after a week, I stumbled again into pornography. This has been ongoing I must say. There are weeks or a month that I am clean, I mean that I am not falling into that sin and then after a while, I would stumble again.
I really want to break free, to be delivered from this sinful lusts in me…I am really frustrated with myself. Everytime I am approaching God or that I am starting to become more intimate with Him, the devil and or the temptation works double time. Sometimes I am able to resist, sometimes I am defeated.. God knows, the Lord Jesus Christ knows I want to obey Him, I want to be able to really love Him…i dont want to be a fake or a false believer. I want to be a true, a genuine born again Christian, a redeemed, regenerated child of God. I really want to overcome this sin.
By the way I am from the Philippines and I am single, 32 years old.. i accepted the Lord Jesus as my Lord and Savior when i was only 15. From 15 to 17, I was really clean and on fire and faithful to Him. Since then my life has been a series of ups and downs. I wannna be consistent, I know i will never be sinless, well, no one ever will…but I want to sincerely honor and glorify God the Father by being devoted and committed to Jesus and in His word and by being filled by His Holy Spirit.
Please, pray for me Aaron.. I hope i can get some advice from you. Thank you so much and God bless you more, your family and your ministry, all for His glory, amen.

Hi Danvy! Good to connect with you here. I prayed for you. Pornography addiction is fierce and too powerful to overcome in the flesh for many. Jesus must overcome for you. I encourage you to carefully read Romans chapters 6-8 many times. What Paul describes towards the end of chapter 7 is similar to what you are struggling with. Christ must become your life. Also, I encourage you to read a book called, The Bondage Breaker, by Neil Anderson. Keep up the good fight by surrendering and trusting in God alone. God bless you.
